South-west of Sydney, the Southern Highlands are a country of villages, gardens and waterfalls, among them Fitzroy Falls; on the coast, the Grand Pacific Drive crosses the Sea Cliff Bridge above the ocean.

The Highlands

The towns of Bowral, Berrima and Bundanoon and the falls at Fitzroy Falls are the heart of the Highlands; intercity trains reach the Southern Highlands from Central.

The coast road

The Grand Pacific Drive runs south from Royal National Park along the Illawarra coast, crossing the Sea Cliff Bridge.

Our advice: make it a long day, or stay a night in the Highlands.
